Buddy when he was pup

I never bought you,
You were born in my heart.
But Maggie(Buddy’s mother) did tell me,
You were born on 3rd March.

The day we got you home,
You wanted to take a nap,
So you slept all the way home….
With your head resting in my lap.

With these memories each day…
I wish for you and pray,
That every year this day,
You have the Happiest Birthday!

There were things we did together,
Which will stay with me forever,
I won’t forget them ever,
Cause I know I can never.

I remember once your paws,
Burn on the hot road of tar,
How you were jumping, and I told you,
“Oh Buddy, how funny you are!”

I miss the way you ran,
like a totally crazy rat,
And the way your tummy jiggled,
That was really-really fat.

I miss you calling names,
“Three pieces”, “Horsey”, and “Cat”.
And the way you spilt water from your bowl,
And in there you went and sat.

Sorry for not keeping the promise,
Of keeping you safe till I live.
Now all I have are you memories,
And keeping them safe now, is all I can give.

There’s not a day that goes by,
That I don’t think about you,
And every single day that goes by,
Oh Buddy I miss You.

Buddy with his soft type

I remember the time,
We got you home.
You looked confused,
In that world unknown.

You got a name,
You lived up to,
Became my best friend,
And my brother too!

You chewed on stuff,
And tugged on clothes,
Leaving half chewed chappals,
And baniyans with holes.

Though five years younger,
You were a teen before me.
You got so strong,
That you dragged me down the street.

When I cried in my room,
With my four limbs bruised,
I got a hug from you,
And all my pain reduced.

Many moments such,
When I felt sad and blue,
With your head resting on my shoulder,
I got a comforting hug from you.

You were and are my special,
The love of my life,
My best BUDDY,
And mera chhota bhai.

The years spent with you,
The memories that are,
Even beyond my last breath,
Will never-ever mar.
